THE ARCHITECT.
The background, standards, and strategic judgement that shape every engagement at Square Rig Studio.
A Foundation Built Across Three Careers
Chapter 1 — Royal Navy
Fourteen years as a Gunnery Instructor. Operating and instructing on weapons systems in an environment where precision is a condition of the job, not a preference. The discipline, the systems thinking, and the standard of decision-making formed in that environment do not leave you.
Chapter 2 — Aldi
Maintenance Section Leader at an Aldi Regional Distribution Centre. Operational responsibility for multimillion-pound budgets across both facilities maintenance and MHE maintenance. Managing critical systems and people inside one of Britain's most demanding logistics environments — running under commercial pressure, around the clock, with no margin for drift.
Chapter 3 — Founder
Before Aldi, Kris built and ran an independent forklift training business from the ground up. Sourced clients, delivered instruction, and managed every aspect of operations alone. That experience — of building something that has to stand on its own — shapes how every engagement at Square Rig Studio is approached.
The Square Rig Ethos
Square Rig Studio was founded on the conviction that premium brands deserve digital environments built to the same standard as the rest of their offering. Not polished templates. Not surface-level aesthetics. Architectured systems built with precision, structure, and commercial intent.
Every engagement is led personally. The same standards that shaped Kris's earlier career — clarity, precision, and a refusal to accept imprecision — are the standards that define the work here.
THE ARCHITECT'S PHILOSOPHY
Precision Without Drift
Every decision should serve the structure, the brand, and the commercial objective. Precision is not attention to detail for its own sake — it is the refusal to allow imprecision to compound.
Authority Through Clarity
The strongest digital environments do not overstate themselves. They establish confidence through coherence — through structure that is so well resolved that no explanation is needed.
Distinction by Design
A premium presence should create separation through judgement, structure, and execution — not through styling that could belong to anyone.
Start the Right Conversation.
Every engagement begins with a briefing. That is where the right scope, the right entry point, and the right outcome are defined.
